Shopfronts are not just a doorway for access or a window for display. They are also just not glass, wood and steel for safety and security. Instead, they offer perspectives into our needs and visions into our wants. They entice us in multi-sensory ways that trigger our imagination and desires. Simply, they have a mission, to get our attention and pull out our wallet.

Walking down the streets of Barcelona is an exciting journey of discovery at every turn and corner. From the colourful signage of a fashion store to the aged wooden architraves framing an old sundry shop, from the music playing from an old record store to the aromatic coffee from a roadside café, there is so much to see, feel, hear and smell.

Never neglect these understated and often taken for granted streetscape when we travel. Shopfronts offer clues and insights into the historical, social and cultural fabric of a city that spans generations which no guide book would include.
